In Auckland

On Monday I woke up early. I got out of bed and got dressed and I felt sad to leave Auckland. I packed up my suitcase. Later I had a look around to see if I had left anything. After that I said bye to Illy the cat who was really friendly and lived there, I also said goodbye to Orlando who lived there who was a cat, and said goodbye to Fanny Mye that is a cat, Bailey was a dog that lived there. She was a labrador. She was so cute. We also said goodbye to the friends we were staying with. Then they left to go to work and the young one went to school.

After that I put my jacket on and opened the door and we left the house. Five minutes later me and my dad hopped into a taxi and did our seat belts up i nearly fell asleep in the taxi.

Later on we were at the airport. We got our suitcases out of the back of the car and walked into the airport. We got something to eat. One hour later, we ran to the airbridge and hopped on the airplane. We walked along until we found our seat numbers and sat down. I said to my dad “I wish I’d put my book into your bag so I could have read it.”

He said “I did.” I was filled with joy. It was really noisy in the airplane. I heard snoring and talking and the airplane noises. One hour later we landed bumpily, hopped out the airplane and we got our bags.

When we left the airport my grandpa was there. I gave him a hug and said “Hi.” I hopped into the car and my dad put my suitcase in the back of the car and left

How to make ecosystems

How to make ecosystems




We have been working with Talei for three weeks we have been learning about climate change and ecosystems. Me Mya, Charlotte and Prem made an ecosystem. The producer is the soil and the seed, the consumer is the soil and the leaves and the decomposer is the pebbles and water and the oxygen plant.

Water

You put the pebbles at the bottom and the oxygen plant and add water half way. In the middle you put soil and leaves and worms at the top put soil and seeds. I had fun learning about ecosystems.

Winter Sport

I did Netball for winter sport. Netball is my favorite sport . We versed different schools. My friends on my team was Addison, Minttu and Sitia. Our team was called Makos. In one of our games we got 23 goals and the other team got 3 goals. Our coaches are called Sammy and Stella. It was really fun and I want to do it again.

Kitchen Science

Kitchen Science 

We did Kitchen Science for three weeks. We learnt about gas, liquid and solid. We made Magic Milk,Elephant Toothpaste Cabbage juice indicator and Dancing Raisins. We mixed things, dissolved things and changes things. I learnt about Solid, Liquid, Gas and Matter; Matter is everything like cars soap and people. Solid is hard things. Gas is like steam. Liquid is like water. I had fun doing kitchen science.

The Forest

In the forest lived a wolf in a big tree with moss surrounding it with a big gray wooden door with a bright lantern there are steppes from the door going down onto the ground. At night at a full moon the wolf comes out and howls as the wolf howls the lantern fades away into nothing. In the morning animals are out but not the wolf. Animals are scared of the wolf. And the wolf is scared of them. No animals now that the wolf is scared of them.

Battle Bots

We had to build a Battle Bot using two pieces of cardboard one cup, pens. Me and Charlotte built a Unicorn. I learnt about the Battle Bots they can go fast or slow they can change colour.

We didn't have to change anything. We worked well together because we knew what to do. Next time I would put some more colour on it. Our name was the Unicorn squad. When we went in the Arena we had to put a balloon on it. We had a pin on the front of the Battle Bot to poke other peoples Battle Bots. One of the rounds we came second. It was really fun to do.

   

My Science

We did science for three weeks. I worked with Mya and Manaia we tried to make a simple machine but it didn't work. We had a lever but not a pulley. Levers can be lots of things like seesaws. Pulleys help lift things. Me and Charlotte made catapults and it worked. We made three catapults it was easy.

Retelling “The Box



Tom the old man was on his chair scared of Jerry the mouse who was under the cupboard. Jerry climbed on the table quietly. Tom had set up on the table a trap. Jerry went in the trap the box shut on him. Tom got out of his chair and did a happy dance to the table. Tom stopped doing his happy dance and looked at the box and looked out the window, he reached out to grab the magazine, he got the magazine and slid it under the box and took Jerry to the window. He walked to the window and slid the window up and put the box outside Tom almost shut the window and he heard a cat and grabbed the box with Jerry in it. Tom put the books on a table. He looked at the box and thought of what to do. He went to the kitchen and grabbed a large fork and very fast he stabbed the fork in the box and poked 5 holes in it so Jerry could breathe. Tom went back to the kitchen, he got water, bread crumbs and a lid cap. Tom put some water into the lid cap. He dipped the tip of his finger in the water. Tom slid the lid cap under the box. He put a breadcrumb in the top of the box in a hole. Tom waited and waited. Jerry threw the breadcrumbs back out the hole. Tom got really close to the box and slowly lifted the box up and looked at Jerry. Jerry acted like a statue at first and then he looked at Tom angrily. Tom looked away and he looked back at Jerry and slid the breadcrumb to Jerry. Jerry turned around Tom took the breadcrumb back. Jerry looked back around Tom pretended to eat the breadcrumb Jerry was sad. Tom pretended to magic it back. Jerry was surprised. Tom put the breadcrumb on the table Jerry slowly walked to the breadcrumb. Jerry grabbed the breadcrumb and went back to its spot. Tom reached his finger out to Jerry and was just going to touch Jerry when he ran away. Tom was sitting in his chair he put some crumbs on his shoulder. Jerry came up and sat on Toms shoulder and ate the crumbs then Jerry left.Tom got up and smiled and went back to sleep.

                                  Tuatara have 3 eyes one is under their skin.

                              Tuatara live in the coastal areas. Tuatara eat insects.

                                  Tuatara are reptiles. Tuatara are Dinosaurs.

                         

                            Tuatara are different to Lizards. Tuatara has survived for almost 

                        200 million years. Tuatara can live up to 100 years.

Kids teach

Kid Teach is when your classmates teach.

 I played Netball for Kid Teach. 

The lisanig was good.

I like shooting golls the most.

I think that we should get more time to do Kid Teach.

We should do this again because everyone likes it.

Kakapo have whiskers so they can feel their way through the night.
It is the world's heaviest bird.


Kakapo are birds. They live in the Forest.

Kakapo love to play. Kakapo eat fruit.


We need to look after them because they are endangered.

Catapult levers

         We made catapult levers with 6 Popsicles sticks and 6 rubber bands, 1 spoon, 1 cotton ball.

Chatham Island

Chatham Islands is a group of Islands, made up of ten Islands

Chatham Islands are in the Pacific Ocean. The area of Chatham Islands is 966km squared.

Chatham Island use the same currency as New Zealand the New Zealand Dollar. Getting to the Chatham Islands is as easy as flying from Auckland to Christchurch. The flight time is around 90 minutes.

The capital city is Wellington. The population is about 600. It is part of New Zealand.

Chatham Island rains a lot. Chatham Islands native flower is a blue flower.

The Maori name is Hangiauria. The Moriori are the indigenous

Polynesian people of the Chatham Island.

Soma cube

                                  On Tuesday I made a soma cube with 7 shapes and 27 cubes. And joint them                                        together. It looks like this.

My camp reflection

One day I went to camp on wednesday it was fun. We went to waipara when we got there we unpacked I had three bags. I got cabin number two it was dark. Later on we did activity. The activity was bridge building with hamish. Later on we had some biscuits the other activity was the giant swing raft building and water slide and low ropes and archery Air Rifles and Confidence course and my favourites was the giant swing and archery.
