Trip Into Town

 Trip Into Town

2.29.21 We traveld to town on a bus. We went to the Margaret Mahy park. The teachers told us what we needed to do while I ate my morning tea. When they had told us what we needed to do we headed off to fill out the sheet about all the little detail and patterns about the park. I learnt about the journey and the 4 ships. There were two hole pages to fill in. When everyone was finished filling out their sheet we walked across the bridge and sat on the smooth green grass and ate the school lunches. For the school lunches we had croissants and corn chips. When it was around the time to go to the performance we headed off down the road to this big building called the Town Hall. I had been there before two times for graduating for children university and for a concert. We walked up the red carpeted stairs and along a hallway till we got to the door. We found random seats and sat down. We got there a bit too early so we sat down for around four minutes. Then suddenly the lights turned off. The performance started. There was a hoop being huing by a rope from the ceiling,  a Silk and a rope right in the middle of the stage. It was all dark other than one light which was shining on the stage. It was a red light. The performance was called Tumahana. I learnt that Tangaroa is actually called Takaroa. Tane Mahuta is the god of tree, Tawhirimatea is the god of wind, Haumiatiketike is the god of food, Rongomatane is the god of peace, Takaroa is the god of the ocean, and Papatuanuku  is the god of earth. The trip was lots of fun and I learnt lots of new things.
